Namaste! Are you in Bombay? Come join us in the Makers Asylum!

We are hosing giant workshop which we are calling the STEAM Fabrikarium, it is co-organized by Makers Asylum & My Human Kit. 80 participants spending 5 days to think, make, test, fix, create, improve…technical aids for disabilities.

The Fabrikarium concept has been developed by My Human Kit and was inspired by empowering those with disabilities to take an active role in developing their own asistive devices. Our first Fabrikarium was a great success and was held in October 2016 with Airbus Group.

The S.T.E.A.M School concept was developed by Makers Asylum. It is based on a design thinking and digital fabrication program to solve real world problem.

Bionic hands, flying wheelchairs, 3D printers hacked into braille machine writers and many other projects, are some of the challenges we will try to overcome during this Indo-French Steam Fabrikarium using “Jugaad”, “Do It Yourself”, homemade” sprit. In an even simpliest way: Do with what you have

5 projects will be documented in real time and accessible on Hackaday to give opportunities to improve, customize and re-make the prototypes.

Our goal is to inspire the development of technology by and for those with disabilities while at the same time spread knowledge, promote Open Source and frugal innovation.
